Spring Social & Sign Celebration
Coffee, Donuts, and Community—Rain or Shine!
A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent spring community event in the E&B parking lot! We were truly delighted to see so many neighbors show up, even as unexpected rain fell. It was wonderful to share Starbucks coffee, delicious donuts—generously donated by Voodoo Doughnut—and make spring bouquets together, all while celebrating the unveiling of our brand-new neighborhood signs. Your enthusiasm and community spirit made the morning truly special—rain or shine! Thank you, Perfect Party, for donating tables and chairs.
We’d also like to thank our sign sponsors once again, including CD10 Councilwoman Heather Hutt, DOCS Surgical Hospital, E&B Natural Resources, Belle’s, Leslie Romenesko COMPASS, Lyons Mortgage Services Inc. - Andrew Sophocleous, and many of our residents who generously supported this project. Your commitment to our community is deeply appreciated.
Here’s to more community gatherings, sunny skies, and shared memories ahead!
Street Liaison Volunteers
Volunteer to be a Neighborhood Street Liaison!
We’re looking for engaged residents to serve as Street Liaisons. As a liaison, you’ll help keep your neighbors informed by distributing flyers and sharing updates about upcoming initiatives, events, and important neighborhood news—all for your assigned street.
This is a great way to connect with your community and help everyone stay in the loop! For more details or to sign up, please email us at WilshireVistaNA@gmail.com.
Neighborhood Updates
Street Light Outages
Thank you to everyone who has helped make our neighborhood brighter! Most of the street lights have been repaired—a great step forward for our community!
If you notice any remaining street lights that are out, please continue to report them using the city’s MyLA311 system. Your diligence helps keep our streets safe and well-lit for everyone!
Neighborhood Safety: An Ongoing Priority
Neighborhood safety continues to be a top concern for all of us. Recently, the WVNA Board met with the LAPD to discuss these issues and ways we can work together to keep our community safe.
The LAPD encourages all residents to report crimes—including non-emergency incidents. For issues that don’t require an immediate 911 response—such as noise complaints or suspicious activity—please call the LAPD non-emergency line at 1-877-ASK-LAPD (1-877-275-5273) or 213-617-5912. Your reports help law enforcement log activity in our area, which leads to increased neighborhood patrols and support for our community.
Additionally, we urge everyone to contact MyLA311 whenever you notice anything that needs attention, such as graffiti, illegal trash dumping, or broken streetlights. Your alertness and participation make a real difference in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming neighborhood for everyone!
SB 79: Neighborhood Zoning Update
We want to make sure you’re aware of an important state bill that could impact our neighborhood: Senate Bill 79 (SB 79). If passed, this bill would change zoning laws to allow for more multi-family housing near major transit stops—including rail and rapid bus stations—by permitting taller and denser residential developments within specified distances of these transit hubs.
We encourage all residents to learn more about the bill and its potential implications for our community. If this issue matters to you, we urge you to stay informed, read up on the legislation, and consider reaching out to your local representatives to share your thoughts.
For more details, you can review the bill online or or reach out to our state representatives:
State Assembly District 55: Assembly Member Isaac G. Bryan
State Senate District 28: Senator Lola Smallwood-Cuevas
Staying informed and engaged helps ensure our neighborhood’s voice is heard!
