Wilshire Vista Neighborhood News: Events, Giving & More

2025 Year in Review

As we turn the page into 2026, we want to take a moment to reflect on all that our Wilshire Vista community accomplished together last year. In 2025, we elected our new board members, installed fresh neighborhood signs, and gathered through sunshine and storms, including our famously rainy day Spring Social. We also hosted another successful Halloween Haunt, which continues to grow each year, and brought neighbors together through a series of pop up events, including one that celebrated the Wilshire Vista Neighborhood Association’s 30th anniversary.

Beyond events, the Association worked on several key neighborhood initiatives, collaborating with the city to repair streetlights, meeting with our new LAPD Senior Lead Officer, Officer Denzler, to discuss community safety, and advocating on behalf of Wilshire Vista for surrounding city projects. We wrapped up the year with a cheerful volunteer celebration at Tom Bergin’s, a reminder that our community spirit is stronger than ever!

Seeking Event Director, Volunteer Coordinator & Social Media Team Member

Love bringing people together? We’re looking for a volunteer to join as Event Director. This role will help plan and oversee some of our most beloved gatherings, including our annual Halloween Haunt. It’s a great opportunity for someone with event planning or fundraising experience who wants to make an impact locally. The Halloween Haunt is one of the biggest neighborhood events in Mid-City, often drawing participation from our City Council office, so your work will be highly visible and deeply appreciated.

We’re also recruiting a Volunteer Coordinator to partner with the Event Director in assembling and managing the volunteer team for these events. If you’re organized, enjoy meeting neighbors, and want to strengthen community connections, we’d love your help!

Fuel your passion for photography and social media! Join our Social Media Team and help showcase the unique charm and vibrant spirit of our neighborhood. Be a part of something exciting—share stories, capture moments, and make a real impact as a Social Media Team Member.

Our next neighborhood Meet & Mingle is this Saturday, February 21, on the corner of Genesee and Packard from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We’ll have coffee and treats, and it’s a relaxed chance to meet neighbors, chat with Wilshire Vista board members, and share your ideas for the community.

Support Neighborhood Efforts Through Annual Giving

The Wilshire Vista Neighborhood Association is 100% volunteer-run, and your contributions make everything we do possible, from community events and local advocacy to projects like our new street signs.

Please help fund our neighborhood efforts this year through Annual Giving. Your donation helps support neighborhood events and community improvements.

Another great way to contribute is by purchasing official Wilshire Vista merchandise. All items were designed by Wilshire Vista resident and Board member Matthew Peridis and include t-shirts, totes, hats, and bandanas, with all proceeds going directly toward community initiatives.

Give back to your community this season—help fund neighborhood events and improvements with your donation!
